ABOUT THE COMPETITION

On the 17th of February our lines went slack. We lost a brother, a son, a fiancee, a best friend, and a dam good fisherman.
 
Joshua Tingey, at 28 years young, had a tragic paragliding accident on Mauao. To honour his life and love for fishing we created a fishing competition in his name to raise funds for youth in the Bay of Plenty community.  On the 21st of March 2026 we will run the competition for the eighth year. Last year we had 179 anglers and raised over $15,000.
